Garage

The studio design accommodated for a 2 car garage which we could stuff with a bunch of things that are not cars.

Insulation

After observing an insulation contractor  do the specified job in the living space, we concluded that we could easily do it ourselves in the garage which early was not defined to have insulation. For $200 in supplies and some labor we got it done.

Drywall

The next day the drywall contractor brings in his subcontractor of laborer and gets the drywall installed quickly and in a giant mess.

A disappointment we had was that we had to finish the ceiling with drywall and this covered up 75% of our “Big Beam”. This was due to the fire sprinkler contractor installing PVC lines and the change order to make it copper lines was cost prohibitive.

Finishing and painting

So the drywall contractor was hired to do textured finish which Amy says is very hard (to keep it random?) and we followed behind with a white paint job. The contractor was a nightmare schedule wise and I’m still not confident that the work is that hard. Maybe in the future I would venture into trying it myself.

About a month after doing the insulation we had the garage all painted with an orange ceiling in honor of the two Honda 600z which would find a home in the garage. Also my old studio speakers were installed to give the garage some entertainment.
